**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** G’day crew and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves. Well yesterdays surf here along the West coast of Bali was cranking at just about every location while the wind blew off-shore through until 10.30am by turning to the WSW. Sorry I couldn’t get back to ya’s with the afternoon surf up-date as this part of Bali kinda shut down for a huge Balinese Hindu ceremony up on Kuta Beach. Thousands apon thousands of Balinese were in attendance, I been a bit busy and had to be reminded by my extended family here. Sorry I didn’t take any photographs for ya’s, as it woulda been impossible to participate. Ok, what’s going on this fine Tuesday morning. My 6.30am surf check of the Outer reefs has revealed 1-3ft of swell breaking in between Kuta Reef and Airport Left on the rising tide. Actually it’s dropped off quite a bit from yesterday but there are still a few fun sized waves breaking down on Airport Left in the head high class, 3ft for the surfers that have been around awhile. Wind direction was only just detectable at 1-2knot coming outta the NNE but will more than likely be variable for the next couple of hours. Now I don’t want to sound like someone who knows it all ok, but I havta say that just about every surf forecasting site on the net providing us with their predictions for Indonesian waters, stuffed up. It must be hard for em though, trying to predict what will happen 1000’s of km’s away from where they are. Outside today there’s nothing but blue sky and sunshine and another warm beach day coming our way. The temperature should max out at something like 32 Celcius while the West coast water temp is perfect for boardshorts and bikini’s at around 22-23 Celcius. Oh yeah, these new photos we shot for ya are of local surfer Marlon Gerber doing what he does best at Keramas. Marlon has just recently changed sponsors and is now riding for Quiksilver Indonesia. Plus down the bottom of the page you will find a new 1 minute video clip from Uluwatu of the 26th, just after the wind had swung on-shore, but it still does the job. Alright then folks that’s about it for this mornings session, but I shall return later this evening with the run down on what it was, regarding Bali’s surf and weather conditions. In the mean time ya can send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Likewise if your looking for a cheap, clean and surfer friendly place to home base at here in Bali. Until later have a top day where eva ya are out there and hopefully we’ll see ya’s here in Bali in 2006.
One more very important thing before I go dept: A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans, by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected]
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. I think it costs around AU$70.00 per year to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books plus pocket money.
Best Regards from Your Bali.
