**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy surfers and thanks for droppin by the baliwaves this Friday morning. Well as I mentioned on Wednesday yesterday was “Hari Nyepi” here in Bali. For those who have never heard of it, it’s the one day a year when everyone here in Bali has to remain indoors, for the entire day. There also no noise or lights for the duration. There is a reason for it according to the Balinese, but it would take me a while to explain it, so I won’t. Anyway yesterday was a pretty good day to stay inside, the wind started howling outta the West at 6.30am gusting out at 15-18knot+. But I can’t really say for certain if there was any waves, it’s kinda like “if a tree falls in the forest and there’s no one around…….” This morning I was down doing my recon of the Outer Reefs at 6.05am. I was standing there on the beach in the rain, with the wind blowing on-shore outta the WSW at something like 10-12knot. Looking at 1-2ft wind blown chop breaking in between Kuta Reef and Airport left. I haven’t even had a look at the charts yet, but I’ll be tuned in, in time for this afternoons surf and weather up-date. Feel free to send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Likewise if your looking for a cheap, clean and 100% surfer friendly place to home base at here in Bali. Until later have a top day where eva ya are out there and hopefully we’ll see ya’s here in Bali in 2006.
One more very important thing before I go dept: A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans, by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected]
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. I think it costs around AU$70.00 per year to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books plus pocket money.
Best Regards from Your Bali.
