**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello to all you reef riders tuning into the baliwaves today. Well crew my 6.30am surf check of the Outer reefs was showing a slightly more consistent swell running, coming more outta the South than West. Wave height in between Kuta Reef and Airport lefts was holding 1-3ft+. There were surfers out on all sections even though the tide was still fairly Low. The best waves were being had on Middle Reef and I did see some over head sets breaking. Earlier wind direction was coming outta the ENE at 1-2knot but has since swung further around to the SE @ 4-7knot and off-shore. I hit the road for Uluwatu at 8.00am and arrived on location just before 9.00am. Wave height down at Uluwatu was a consistent 3-5ft on the Main Peak and 2-3ft+ down on the Temple section. As ya can see in these latest photographs the local surfers were going off, not to mention the air fest that was going down (without the aid of jet ski’s….). The Main Peak did get pretty busy and at 10.30am I counted something like 35 surfers on it, while up at Temple’s there were only around a dozen out. I’d even speculate on the Racetrack producing some barrels later this afternoon towards the sunset session. Coming home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s there were no ridable waves breaking. Weather wise today it’s been hot and humid with a mixture of blue sky and cloud, the temperature woulda easily busted into the low 30’s by midday. I also managed to get the photo quota filled for the bodyboard page, so check it out a bit later on this afternoon, if your into it that is. Ok then friends I’m outta here for now but make sure ya stay tuned cause there’s always something new happening on the baliwaves, everyday of the week ! L8R.
A little while back I mentioned something about baliwaves.com wanting to help out with a charity organisation carring for Balinese Orphans , by finding kind hearted folks to sponsor kids for their basic schooling needs. Well just for now if anyone would like a bit more information please send an email to: [email protected]
Purnie will be able to pass on all the info. I think it costs around AU$70.00 per year to provide a poor little kid with a school uniform, school fee’s and books plus pocket money.
Feel free to send us an email if ya have any questions that might help your next Indo surfing holiday run that bit smoother. Discounts into the G-Land camp of your choice. How to get over to Lakey Peak and still have money to spread around. Likewise if your looking for a cheap, clean and 100% surfer friendly place to home base at here in Bali.
