**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning crew and thanks for calling in for the baliwaves.com surf and weather report. Well yesterday I have to apologize for not giving ya’s the Sunday Session. But I’ll tell ya’s anyway that wave height was micro down in the 1-2ft+ range and the ESE-SE Tradewind was howling up to 25knot+ . This morning I went down for a 7.00am surf recon of the Outer Reefs and there’s been no change as yet. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was for the desperado’s only at one to maybe two feet and the wind winding up to full Tradewind strength outta the ESE-SE. Uluwatu would be your last chance for the odd 3-3ft+ wave but you’d have to be ready for a solid crowd I’d say. Hopefully by late this afternoon we might be seeing the first waves of the new impending swell gracing Bali ’s reef and beach breaks. At the latest there should be a bit more out there by tomorrow. Weather wise the day started off with blue sky and sunshine but right now at 9.00am the cloud has smuther’d out the sun and it’s raining here in Tuban. On the dollar exchanging program on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that; –1AU$=Rp7,600 – 1US$=Rp9,000 – 1NZ$=Rp6,950 . Ok there’s not a lot else to tell ya’s today and I don’t think I’ll bother dragging the camera gear around to shoot the small waves in bad weather. What I have done though is loaded another batch of photos for the boogie boarders onto their page and I’ll be getting Dewa to go and hit the streets of Kuta and Legian with the digimatic to get ya’s a feel of what’s happening out on the streets of Bali today. But like I said if there’s any improvement in wave height today I’ll get back to ya’s with an afternoon surf bulletin. And at the very latest I’ll be out shooting some new material for ya’s come Tuesday. So have a good one for now and hopefully we’ll see ya’s all over here in Bali some time this year. Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa; Onky filed his sms surf report from lakey’s at 7.00am and spoke of similar sized waves over there today. Actual wave height on Lakey Peak was down in the 1-2ft+ range and surfing conditions were clean and glasy at the time. There was still 10 surfers out on “The Peak” and another 4 riders sitting across the achannel on Lakey Pipe . The total number of surfers staying in the Lakey area has dropped back to 95+ For anyone want ing to try out Lakey Peak make sure you check the tidal information before you head over there. It’s pretty important that you line up your time there while the High Tide is happening through the early am and then progressing forward each day. That way you’ll be assured of scoring perfection. Merpati Airlines are flying there daily from Bali and you can buy your tickets from a 1000 different travel agents anywhere in Bali (and save yourselves some dollars by doing it on your pat malone) Once your in Bima there’s transport drivers waiting to take you to Lakey Peak for around Rp500,000 per van, and that’s split between the surfers. Then ya got a range of Hotels to choose from all right in front of the waves, ranging from low low budget to the very very comfortable rooms of the Aman Gati Hotel.
