Bali Surf Report – September 21 2007

MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning my friends in surfing and welcome back to the baliwaves.com. Ok as ya’s can see in these photos I shot out at Kuta Reef yesterday wave height was still rocking through in the 3-4ft range . There was only something like 15 surfers in the line up and the wind was shifting about all day, tending more from the S-SSE if anything. There were a few good one’s peeling off but I wouldn’t go as far as saying it was perfect. Yesterday afternoon one of the surfers from here at Home Base Bali made the run down to Padang Padang and reckoned it was smoking through in the 4-5ft range just before sun set. This morning when I went down for the 7.00am surf recon of the Outer Reefs wave height still appears to be breaking in thr 3-5ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The tide was running out for a middle of the moon phase 0.8mtr Low and the wind was coming lightly outta the WNW @ 1-2knot . Weather wise outside we have got mainly suny conditions but there is the odd bit of cloud passing through. The next High tide is gunna be a poorly little 1.3mtrs and that’ll peak around 5.00pm. I’ve had reports from a lotta different locations over the last couple of days and to tell ya the truth there hasn’t been to many tales of perfection. This last swell that’s been going for the last 4 days now just ain’t been delivering the goods. Maybe over the next day or two as it starts to back off we might get lucky. Then looking a little bit further to the future and sometime around the next Full Moon it looks like we’re gunna be on the receiving end of an even bigger swell . There was also a bit of drama down on the Outer Reefs this morning with one reef boat being rolled over by a freak set, luckily, very luckily there was no one hurt. For now we’ve got our guest photographer Scott Thompson out on the road down to Dreamland to snap us some photos, Scott should be back by mid afternoon and I’ll get them loaded up for ya’s ASAP. I’ve also got stacks of photos to load into the September Surfing Gallery and Kuta Cam Gallery . Dan from down under at the SUPER BANK has sent ya’s through more photos and surf info. Plus Ray from the Kandui Super Surf Resort up in the MENTAWAI ISLANDS has also filed in a new report and some sick photos.
