Hi crew and thanks for hanging around for me to get back to Home Base after spending the morning down at bali’s Premier surfing location namely ULUWATU.
Firstly, just like I mentioned in yesterdays up-date around 2.00Pm and the top of the tide the wind direction switched right around to the ESE – SE providing clean off-shore wind at most locations here along Bali’s West Coast. I was down on the beach through the afternoon and there were quite a few sufers taking advantage of the 2-3 footers peeling off on the Outer Reefs of Tuban.
This mornings surf check of the Outer Reefs was showing wave height to have dropped off a fraction but still showing in the 2-2ft+ (waist to shoulder high plus) range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
Wind direction was coming straight out of the North @ 3-7knot+
I made the decision for you guys, and made another run down to Uluwatu armed with my 1000mm lens and SLR. I didn’t pull into the car park until around 9.45Am and was happy (from a photographers perspective) to see the car park 50% full. The tide was just starting to run in as I set up and the main surfing focus was out front on the Main Peak with wave height in the 2-4ft range. The wind had also made another adjustment and was now coming lightly out of the West at 2-5knot so surfing conditions were still clean and very tidy. As you can see in these latest photos to come out of Indo.
I stayed at Uluwatu until 11.30Am as the wind was starting to increase in strength out of the West, by that time she was around 5-10knot. Driving back home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s wave height was barely showing in the 1-1ft+ range but there was still around 20 surfers on Malibu’s sitting in the line-up area on the top end of Impossible’s while Padang Padang wasn’t breaking.
Todays Tides; The first tide was a 0.5mtr Low @ 9.00Am and then the High will be 2.3mtr’s @ 3.00Pm
Weather wise it’s been pretty good around the beach today with mainly blue sky and plenty of sunshine. Todays maximum temperature was close to the 28-29 degree’s Celsius mark.
Swell Forecast; looking at the charts available for this region and they are calling for wave height to continue dropping through out today and into tomorrow. But then hopefully sometime late Sunday they are showing a a new small swell to start showing holding through Monday and starting to back off again through Tuesday.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Tuban you’ll find that 1AU$=Rp7,600 and 1US$=Rp11,850 give or take 100Rupiah depending on vender.
