****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for waiting around for us to get back to Home Base with the latest photos and surf and weather info to come out of your No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Well this mornings surf recon of the Outer reefs was showing another drop in wave height, down into the 2-2ft+ range between Kuta reef and Airport left. Surfing conditions were clean with the wind blowing straight off-shore out of the ESE @ 5-10knot. So with that bit of valuable info we hit the road South to Bali’s wave magnet and premier surfing location of Uluwatu.
Arriving around 9.30am to find wave height a super consistent 2-4ft and only around 20 surfers spread out between the Racetrack and Main Peak section. things were looking pretty good. As ya’s can see in these 30 odd photos I loaded it was once again Tube City and the place to be today. But as the tide started to run back in (as usual) the number of surfers now jumped to around 60+ spread out from Temples through to the Main Peak.
Cruising home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s there was a sluggish looking 1-1ft+ wave breaking down the reef on Impossible’s and what looked like a surf school… up riding the very top end of the reef. While as we knew Padang padang was doing an impression of a lake.
Weather wise the day kicked off with some heavy rain around 7.00am and then remained overcast until late morning before the sun busted out, reaching a maximum temperature of around 29-30 degree’s Celsius.
Our daily smsm from the G-land Surf Camp was calling wave height to have also backed off a touch at G-land but still pusing the double head high range through Money Tree’s and the Pad. But still no photos to back it up…
Ok crew it’s now getting on towards 5.pm here in Bali and I’ve been going since 6.30am so I’m calling it quits for now. But I did also manage to snap another batch of bodyboard slots for the crew that care. No longboarders down at Uluwatu today but I did get 3 sweet shots of a stand up paddle board rider in full swing (pics 19-21).
Ok enjoy the show and I’ll catch ya’s again tomorrow
