****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello friends and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for another week thats going to be over flowing with new photos, surf reports and some more video clips. Ok and another big thanks to Hendra and his surf photography team for keeping the photos fresh everyday. And I also want to give baliwaves.com a pat on the back in regards to our latest video clip from Padang Padang (still on-line). Apparantly last Friday it was the 12th most viewed sports video in all of Australia !
Rightio then this mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in the laid back suburb of Tuban was showing wave height to be still holding in the chest to head high plus range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Kuta Reef was breaking in the chest to head high class with the occassional bigger set wave and no shortage of surfers with at least 30 in the water by 8.00am. Middle Reef was slightly bigger and there were another 10 crew sitting out there. While Airport Reef was showing chest to head high plus as well.
Surfing conditions still had room for improvement earlier with the wind light out of the NE. The ESE-SE off-shore Tradewind should could in anytime around 9.00am and tidy things up.
Tidal info for today is saying we will have a New Moon 2.4mtr High @ 10.00am and then running out for a 0.2mtr Low around 4.30pm.
Looking for a wave today, well the scene is pretty much set to take your pick of any of the reef breaks from Kuta Reef all the way down to Uluwatu. Just pick your favourite part of the tide.
Weather wise, blah blah blah, hot and sunny !!
Swell Forecast; Ok so the charts are saying that wave height should hold through today and maybe even pick up another foot or so through out this afternoon. Monday see’s wave height backing off a touch and holding through Tuesday in the 3-6ft range depending on location. Wednesday see’s wave height dropping back into the 2-4ft+ class through till Thursday evening when we should see another solid swell gracing the reefs around Bali pushing wave height back into the 6-8ft+ peg and hopefully another round of Padang Padang for Friday. Saturday wave height falling back into the 4-6ft range, then Sunday smaller again. But just on the edge of the radar there’s another system moving up the Indian Ocean arriving around Tuesday week. So get ready or start booking your flights to Bali.
That’s us for this Monday morning folks and we hope yours gets off to good start where ever you might be. What ever you do make sure ya stay tuned right here to the one and only original Bali surf report, or jump on a plane and come and get some of the action.
Best Regards from Bali

Hi there Slim,
I looked out at Petitengat 6.30 and saw some sets rolling in with lulls between. Decided Kuta was not the go and went down to Canggu.
Well, the old canggu was churning. Almost maxed out with double overhead–can’t get this swell size stuff, it depends on location and tide. Anyway, don’t tell anyone, I surfed the left which was curling around the bowl it breaks over. 5 guys on the left. about 15 on the right and a few picking up the bommies on Sandbar.
I can’t believe Ulu wasn’t getting some!!
Cheers, Doc. Maybe see ya tomorrow.

Hey Slim,
Thinking of a trip to Lakeys in September but am worried about crowds. Any idea of how crowded Lakeys is these days (over the years I’ve seen it go from 15 guys to over a hundred after the WQS event and back to 40). I’m worried it’s back in vogue again after the recent ASL feature.
Also, have the crowds in Bali increased much over the past 2 years?
It’s a shame word got out that this is the best sport in the world!
Cheers
