****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for the low down on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Ok this mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing similar sized waves as yesterday but with the occassional bigger set wave coming through. So we can say wave height height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left is breaking in the 2-3ft range with the odd 4 foot freak set. Down along the Bukit I’m sure you’d also be able to find some sweet little waves at Balangan in the 2-3ft+ range. And Uluwatu would be breaking in the 3-4ft+ sector for sure.
Surfing conditions this morning were a little bit ordinary when I was first on the beach with the wind blowing light on-shore out of the WNW. But at around 9.30am the ESE-SE of-shore Tradewind kicked in and we are back to clean and smooth conditions between Kuta and Uluwatu.
Tidal info for today is calling for a 1.0mtr Low @ 11.00am and then a no range 1.6mtr High around the 5.00pm mark.
Our daily sms surf report from the guys at the G-land Surf Camp was saying that wave height has also crept up a notch at G-land in East Java. With the swell coming more out of the SW and breaking in the 4-5ft class (up to double head high) from Kongs through MoneyTree’s all the way down to the Launching Pad.
Weather wise here in the Tuban / Kuta part of Bali we have a blue sky and heading for a holiday temperature of around 31 degree’s Celsius. While the water temp is a very pleasant 23-24 degree’s Celsius.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that; –1AU$=Rp8,185 — 1US$=Rp10,175 —
Ok we should have some new photos from Hendra by later this evening so stay tuned to the one and only original Bali surf report website.

G’day mate, I’m heading over on sat with the family for 12 days and am a casual ok fit surfer (although haven’t been in the water for a few months) would it be advisable to stick to Kuta & Aiports left breaks as I will be staying in Tuban!! how much are they charging these days for the boat out?? as I haven’t been here for about 6years!! Also is there any beach breaks nearby for a fun quick surf or anyone renting out standup paddle surf gear??
Thanks for any assistance provided!!

Hi Andrew, the boat guys vary in price from Rp40,000 to Rp50,000 for the return trip. Stand up paddle boards, hmmm tough one. They are no good at Kuta to Airport reefs ! best on the beach breaks !!!!!

Stand ups just get in the way and no one rents them at the beahy. I go to Padma every day and have lived in Bali for nine years so I know.
Gary Lary says
Just dont come. Its too crowded. You wont like it.

Thanks guys for your comments!! The stand up thing was for a bit of off shore fitness in between surfs as I cannot get away to far from the young family!! not for going out to Kuta or airport reefs. I’m bringing my own short board for surfing!! Thanks slim for the pricew guide!!

No worries Andrew, glad to hear the SUP is just for fitness and not used as a weapon of mass destruction… 🙂

Gary whats your problem with sharing Bali with other surfers dude ? The Balinese don’t mind tourists at all it’s how they make their living if you didn’t know. And get on the program, it’s 2009 and surfing is probably the most popular sport in the Worrld, well it seems like it anyway. If you don’t like surfing with other folk probably better off staying at your local and getting all the waves ?
