****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello to everyone tuning into the baliwaves again today and eager to know whats going down surf and weather wise here on the real surfers paradise holiday island of Bali.
Ok first up these latest photos were taken down at Uluwatu through out the 19th between both the high and low tides by our friends from Hendra Surf Photography. Now this mornings surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing another drop in wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Kuta Reef while the tide was still reasonably high this morning had a few small but perfect shaped waist to chest high waves peeling along the reef, @ 6.45am there were already 10 surfers on it. Middle Reef was a bit fat on the higher end of the tide but towards midday will be the best option for a paddle around this part of the island, wave height is around chest to head high with the occassional bigger set wave. Down on Airport Left the troops are back in force with the smaller conditions. Wave height is around waist to chest high plus with around 35+ surfers out there.
Surfing conditions are clean and tidy, earlier the wind was coming out of the NNE but has since then swung more to the ESE-SE and blowing straight off-shore between Kuta and Uluwatu @ 7-10knot. And more than likely will furher increase in strength up to 15knot by midday.
Tidal info is calling a 2.2mtr High @ 8.00am and then running out for 0.5mtr Low around 2.30-300pm. Our next Moon Phase will be a New Moon on the 22nd of this month so we will start to see some bigger differences between the high and low marks.
Weather wise today there was a bit of cloud drifting about earlier but now at 10.00am we have 95% blue sky. Heading for a top temperature of around 32 degree’s Celsius along the beach. While the water temp has cooled down a degree or two, around 22-23 degree’s Celsius.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that 1AU$=Rp8.050 and the US$=10,250.
Ok friends that’s about us this morning, have a flick through the new surf and bodyboard photos and we’ll be back again tomorrow with the Sunday Session here on the one and only original Bali surf report website.
Apology dept; Sorry to anyone waiting for an email response from me things have been hectic with the waves we’ve been getting through this week, and there’s only more on the way for next week. Hang in there or if it is real important re-send her through. Most importantly remember baliwaves.com is a 100% free service to you.
Best Regards from Bali

Waves at Seminyak are in the 2 – 4 ft range with freak sets of around 5 maybe 6ft. The swell at 6 am didnt have many freak sets, then around 7am the freakys became more consistent so Id say the swell is building as predicted. Theres a good bank 100 m south of KuDeTa. Canggu would be my pick for the day.

Sorry Matt, but when I was learning to surf (around 38yrs ago) we didn’t use a standard straight out “in feet” method. It’s kinda like this… a 1ft wave is well just 1ft tall. 2ft wave = waist high, 3ft wave = head high, 4ft = a couple of feet over head. 5ft = double head high, 6ft = tripple head high and 8ft-8ft+ is bloody big. If you remember those scales you’ll be on the ball with any veteran or big wave surfers 😉
