****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hi folks and a big thank you for dropping into the baliwaves.com for our Sunday Session run down on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination that’s got it all, Bali. And not too mention the latest photos that we’ve got from Hendra and his photo team from down on the ever famous Uluwatu. Just too remind anyone coming over to Bali that would like some photos taken drop Hendra an email as their crew can shoot from any location from the land or water using their latest toy, being a high powered jet-ski.
Ok this mornings surf check of the Outer reefs here in the laid back suburb of Tuban was looking pretty crook. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left has dropped right off and only just breaking in the 1-2ft range on the bigger set waves. Even though there’s still something out there for the die hard’s. Uluwatu would be the best bet for a paddle this morning and you’d probably still be able to find some chest to head high plus waves.
Surfing conditions were fairly clean at 7.00am but the wind was coming lightly out of the NNW @ 2-4knot and cross-shore. But since then the ESE-SE off-shore Tradewind has kicked in and currently gusting (10.00am) into the 10-15knot range
Tidal info today is calling for a 2.3mtr High @ 8.30am and then running out for a 0.5mtr Low around the 3.00pm mark.
Weather wise there’s nothing to complain about, blue sky and sunshine and heading for a top temperature of around 32 degree’d along the beach.
Swell forecast; Saturday and the game is just about over for this swell, come Sunday the only place that will be breaking is down at Uluwatu and then only in the 2-3ft (waist to head high at best). But further out down in the Indian Ocean there is another system in transit that we should start producing some fresh waves around Wednesday / Thursday next week. This new system is really only going to get us through till Friday with waves up to 4-6ft, head high plus to double head high plus depending on location. Then on Saturday backing off again. But then again on Sunday next week it looks like we’ll be in for another solid boost with a much larger system moving in on us.
G-land; Ok the 10% discount for the early bookings into the G-Land Surf Camp has finished but I’ve spoken with the boss and he’s still prepared to give anyone who mentions baliwaves.com a 5% discount on standard, twin share and fan bungalows and a 10% discount on their air conditioned bungalows. Just mention baliwaves.com at their office and you’ll get money back in your pocket.
Traffic Up-date, we’ll the traffice anywhere from Kuta to Seminyak is still out of control and will continue to be clogged with slow moving traffic through until the Indonesian elections begins, not long to go.
Here’s a few tips for any new visitors, 1/ don’t change your dollars to Rupiah at home, you’ll get a much better rate over here in Bali. 2/ If you need to change dollars at the airport when you arrive only change enough to get you to your hotel. The airport also has lower rates than on the street. 3/ Changing dollars with the money exchanging counters on the streets always use the vendors that display a “no commission fee” sign.
Ok crew enjoy the rest of the weekend and we’ll be back again tomorrow to give ya’s the run down here in Bali.
Best Regards
Slim
