****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
G’Day surfers and thanks for calling by the baliwaves.com again this morning for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali. And once again Hendra and his Team have dropped off another bunch of photos that were taken down at Uluwatu yesterday.
Todays 6.45am surf check of the Outer Reefs of Tuban was still showing wave height to be in the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. And with the tide still running down for a 0.7mtr Low set for 9.00am Middle Reef was the only section that was producing ridable waves, with 4 surfers already in the line-up. Maybe as the tide starts it’s run back in we might see an improvement in wave height, fingers crossed. Then Kuta Reef and Airport Left might have a couple of waves to help thin the crowds.
Surfing conditions this morning are clean but with the ESE-SE Tradewind already gusting up to 15knot+ So your going to get the best conditions down under the cliffs of the Bukit at Uluwatu and maybe even Balangan.
The next tide will be a Low of 0.7mtrs and then a 1.8mtr High @ 3.00pm.
Weather wise this morning there was more solid cloud cover and an early threat of rain that never came through. Now @ 8.30am the sun is starting to bust out some rays and getting back on track for an expected high of 29 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Forecast; Hmmm, well as ar as I can tell wave height is going to slowly fade further through out today and tomorrow. Then late Wednesday evening a small system is going to start to show but nothing to impressive size wise. Thursday see’s wave height in the 3-5ft+ (head to double head high plus) range at the better locations, more southern facing. Holding into Friday morning before starting to back off through out the day and into Saturday. Another small spike expected for Sunday, but only short lived and dying off toward the afternoon. Then it’s back to small conditions for Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully come Wednesday we’ll see a slightly better system producing waves back up in the 3-5ft+ range.
Our daily sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp was saying that everything was shaping up for another top day of surfing at G-Land. Wave height was still hanging in the in the head to double head high range with the wind clean off-shore from day break.
New Video Clip has been loaded and it features Kuta Reef and the Racetrack section of Uluwatu. So make sure ya take a look !!!
Here’s a few tips for any new visitors, 1/ don’t change your dollars to Rupiah at home, you’ll get a much better rate over here in Bali. 2/ If you need to change dollars at the airport when you arrive only change enough to get you to your hotel. The airport also has lower rates than on the street. 3/ Changing dollars with the money exchanging counters on the streets always use the vendors that display a “no commission fee” sign.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that; –1AU$=Rp8,000 — 1US$=Rp10,150 —
Yesterday I was forwarded a link to an article from a long time Bali veteran who shares some similar views as I do. If your interested check it out via this link; http://novelistinparadise.com//?p=829 Bali Surf report
