****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
Welcome aboard the baliwaves.com for another dose of surfing and weather info from your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali. And I have to admit I’m happy to be mistaken saying in yesterdays report that today wouldn’t be a very good one of waves.
This mornings 7.30am surf recon of the Outer reefs was showing a definite spike in wave height between Kuta reef and Airport left. At the time the tide was still heading out for a 0.5mtr Low so there wasn’t much happening on Kuta Reef or Airport left but Middle Reef had some fun sized and very consistent waist to head high waves. There was at least 10-15 surfers already out there but there was plenty of waves breaking to keep everyone happy. If this pulse hangs in there as the tide starts to fill back in Airport left should have something on it as well.
Surfing conditions this morning were perfect with the wind coming lightly out of the ESE and off-shore between Kuta and Uluwatu @ 2-4knot but has since then increased to around the 10knot+ mark.
Tidal info is saying we had the 0.5mtr Low @ 8.30am and then she’ll be running back in for a 2.0mtr High @ 2.00pm.
Looking for a wave today, well it’ll be a lot easier to find something today than what it woulda been yesterday. Bingin and the Racetrack section of Uluwatu would have been producing a few tude rides on the morning Low tide. Balangan and the Ulu’s Main Peak sections should also be good on the run up tide.
Sms surf report from G-land courtesy of the folks at the G-Land Surf Camp was saying everythings rosey over at G-Land this morning. Wave height has jumped up into the 3-5ft range (head to double head high). hitting Kongs and the top end of Money Tree’s. No surers reported in the water at the time of this report (9.00am)
Sms surf report from Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa was saying surfing conditions at Lakey’s were also pristine this morning with no wind present and a glassy 3-3ft+ hitting Lakey Peak. I was also informed that the number of visiting surfers has also dropped off to well under 100.
Weather wise here in Bali it’s pure vacation stuff, blue sky and sunshine heading for a top temperature of around 30 degree’s Celsius along the beach.
Swell Forecast; Friday is looking good for the start of a very solid swell that should peak on saturday and hold through till early next week.
New Video Clip, The new footage I shot up at Keramas the other day is on-line for ya’s, so if there’s not much happening in the office this afternoon make sure you watch it.
G-land; Ok the 10% discount for the early bookings into the G-Land Surf Camp has finished but I’ve spoken with the boss and he’s still prepared to give anyone who mentions baliwaves.com a 5% discount on standard, twin share and fan bungalows and a 10% discount on their air conditioned bungalows. Just mention baliwaves.com at their office and you’ll get money back in your pocket.
