****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for taking the time out to drop by the baliwaves.com for todays look at surfing and weather conditions here on the first choice holiday destination of Bali. Along with these latest photos from Uluwatu courtesy of our good friends at Hendra Surf Photography.
I’d also like to give Pat and Brian from www.eventpowerandlight.com.au a huge thank you for there exceptional help for me to be able to purchase a new lap top so these reports can keep flowing. This couple of everyday Aussies not only helped me while they were in Bali but also helped a young Balinese surfer start his own life by helping him to buy his own double outrigger boat and motor becoming his own master in life. Then they backed that straight up by sponsoring another young Balinese student to help his struggling mother who was battling to keep up with his school fee’s. So if your in Australia and you need portable power and light for an event contact Pat and Brian.
This mornings 6.30am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was looking grim with wave height down into the 1-2ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. There were no surfers in the water at the time but when I went back for another eyeball at 10.00am there were 10-15 surfers at Airport left.
Surfing conditions, Once again the waves are fairly wind blown from the strong off-shore ESE-SE Tradewind that is currently gusting up to 18knot+
Tidal info for today is calling for a 2.1mtr High @ 10am and then a 0.2mtr low around 5.00pm. Today also see’s a New Moon rising.
Weather wise, well apart from the strong off-shore wind we have blue sky and sun shine with a miday temperature of around 29 degree’s.
Sms surf report from Balian was saying wave height had dropped back into the 2-3ft range. Nice waves when they come through but not consistant enough for the solid numbers that were in the water.
Sms surf report from the G-land Surf Camp was also saying that wave height had dropped off over at G-Land. Wave height was hitting Kongs and the top end of Money Tree’s in the 2-3ft+ range. No surfers in the water at 8.30am.
Swell prediction, Wave height will be backing off over the next few days but still plenty on offer depending on location. Hold onto your hats come the 21st for another solid swell to start gracing our reefs.
Ok crew that’s about me for now but don’t forget I’ll have those G-land photos on line for ya’s very shortly. But feel free to drop me an email if you want to stay with us here at Home Base (Tuban) on your next visit to Bali. If you want to get out for some Balinese Sport Fishing, or for info in general and I’ll do my best to help ya out. Now that I’ve got the new lap top running and things are going to get back to normal I’ll be sending out brief surf reports and other ravings through Twitter, so if you haven’t sign up yet get on it.
Catch ya’s again soon
