****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy folks and welcome back to the baliwaves and the start of another surfing week here on the happy little holiday island of Bali. Todays photos are once again courtesy from our friends at Uluwatu, Hendra Surf Photography.
This morning I made it down for the surf check on the Outer Reefs around 7.00AM to find wave height had dropped off a smidgen. But still holding in the head to well over head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. The tide was still running out for a 0.7mtr Low scheduled for 10.00AM so there was just enough water over the reef on Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Both had plenty of waves in the chest to head high class and no shortage of players. Middle Reef was still pulling in 4ft sets (well over head) and will only improve as the tide bottoms out. Then as she runs back in after lunch KR and AL will start working again.
Surfing conditions this morning were clean and glassy with the wind only light coming out of the NE @ 2-4knot. Since then she has swung back to the ESE-SE and increased in strength to around 10-12knot. Clean off-shore wind between Kuta and Uluwatu.
Tidal info is saying the next tide will be a 1.5mtr High around 4.00PM
Weather wise we have the return of a mainly blue sky this morning. Heading for a warm to hot 31 degree’s Celsius along the beach.
Sms surf report from the G-land Surf Camp was telling us that wave height over at G-Land today is still in the over head to double over head class on Kongs and Moneytree’s. With only 2 surfers riding Kongs at 8.00AM.
Swell Forecast; Ok so we’ve got plenty of waves for today Sunday. Monday and things shouldn’t change too much before another new swell rides in over the old on Tuesday. More surf through Wednesday before it starts to fade on Thursday. Hopefully there’s something a little bit further out, but…
Bruce Hansel, I only just heard the news that Bruce has just under gone some heart surgery from an attack he suffered earlier in the week here in Bali. Bruce is ok but he is struggling to pay for the operation and therapy. So if you know Bruce from down at Uluwatu and can offer any help, please do.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Thanks again for tuning into the original Bali surf report (since ’99) and stay tuned because there’s still plenty more a coming.
Best Regards from Bali
