****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com SUNDAY SESSION for the goss on todays surfing and weather conditions here on your favorite surfing holiday island destination of Bali.
This mornings 7.00AM surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was as predicted showing a slight improvement in size between Kuta Reef and Airport left. The tide was just about on the bottom of a 0.1mtr Low at the time so there was no where near enough water over the reef on KR or AL. Middle Reef how ever as we all know by now is better suited to the lower tide and had a couple of waist to waist high plus waves peeling off to an empty line-up. I didn’t care, within half an hour I was heading South on my old motor bike to Uluwatu, to get these photos.
Ariving around 8.30Am to find around 25 surfers spread out along the Racetrack section, with clean 2–3ft+ waves. By 10.00Am the wind was starting to gain some momentum turning more to the SSW. But still surfing conditions were pretty clean, and by this time there were up to 50 surfers spread between the Main Peak and Racetrack section. I’d had enough, thinking that it was only gunna get worse out there. HA, just as I was kickin over the cycle to return to Home Base the wind did another switcheroo back to the E-SE and off-shore here along Bali’s Premier West Coast (just as it did yesterday afternoon).
Coming home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s I spotted around 8-10 surfers sitting on the middle section of Impossibble’s catching some 1-2 footers. Nothing what so ever breaking on Padang Padang.
Tidal info for today had a 0.1mtr Low @ 7.30AM annd then filling back in with a 1.8mtr High around the 1.30PM mark.
Weather wise we had a nice sunny start to the day before clouding over with some thin high cloud. That’s why today’s photos are a bit dull sorry. Temperature wise now @ 1.30PM she’d be sitting around the 28-29 degree Celsius range but with a heap of humidity thrown in.
