****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****

Hi crew and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for more news on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little surfing holiday island of Bali.

Well something a little different and a little more sedate for our crew today. We hit the road for Medewi early this morning to escape crowds and hopefully find some playful little waves up the coast. That’s exactly what we got as ya’s can see in today’s photos. Arriving on location just as the sun was rising and 2-3 footers peeling off the pebbly point. Not another surfer in sight and the boys enjoyed having all the waves to themselves for the first 2 hrs of their session. Anyway the number of surfers that eventually paddled out topped out at 10.

Surfing conditions were clean with an off-shore Northerly wind @ 2-4knot which lasted through until 10.30 turning to the West. Even then the on-shore wind was only light and surfing conditions remained clean enough. Just for the record the drive up and back on this notorious stretch of Bali highway was pretty sedate. It wasn’t until we were getting closer to Kuta that the traffic snarls started…

Tidal info for today had us down with a 0.7mtr Low @ 9.00am and then she’ll be filling back in with a 21.mtr High later this aternoon around 3.00pm.

Weather wise; mainly hot and sunny with the odd patch of cloud. Temperature wise the mercury would be sitting on around 30 degree’s right now @ 2.30pm

Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that –1AU$=Rp8,350 — 1US$=Rp9,225 –

Swell forecast for the coming week is showing wave height to be pretty much levelling out and hanging in the 2-4ft range depending on location. Later in the week around Thursday we will start to see a new swell showing that should push the tempo back up into the 3-5ft+ range through the weekend.
