****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions here on your favourite tropical surfing holiday island of Bali. Thanks to the boys at Hendra Surf Photography down at Uluwatu for todays new photos.
This mornings 7.30am surf check on the good old Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height a very consistant waist to head high plus between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the tide just coming off the bottom of a 0.7mtr Low there was still enough water over the reef for all three main sections to surf. Kuta Reef had around 25 surfers out there with perfect little waves in the waist to chest high plus region. Middle Reef also had around 20 surfers on it and was producing the best waves, I did spot a couple of over head sets breaking while I was on the beach. Airport Left which is the softest wave on the Outers had at least 6 reef taxi’s parked in the channel indicating a solid crowd. Wave height was coming through in the waist to chest high region as well.
Surfing conditions are clean with the ESE-SE off-shore Tradewind already starting to crank it up. Currently blowing at 8-10knot and expected to increase in strength through the day.
Looking for a wave today I’d be heading down to Uluwatu for the more size and power. But there would also be plenty of other locations on offer down along the Bukit. We should see wave height continue to build a little more through the day.
The next High Tide is going to be 2.4mtr’s around the 1.00pm mark.
Weather wise outside we’ve got another hot and humid one coming on and the beach is going to be the best place to be. Temperature wise the mercury should punch through into the low 30’s on the Celsius scale. The water temp has cooled off a touch with the return of the off-shore wind cooling the surfcae layer down to around 20C
Now anyone out there looking for work in the Western Australian mining area, chasing some big coin should check out our new banner advertisement from “Scotford & Fennessy”. And just think, if you did get a start there you’d only be around 3.5hrs away from holidays in Bali.
Also while I’m on the promo trail “Doggy the Man” boat charters to Lombok and Sumbawa has 7 day surfing charters on offer for just US$500.00 per person. Or go one better and charter the whole boat privately with your friends for just US$5,000.00 for the week. So take a look at the websites and see what they have for you.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1AU$=Rp8,285 — 1US$=Rp8,895 — give or take a few Rupiah depending on vendor.
Lakey Peak / Sumbawa, according to one of my old friends who has been over at Lakey’s for the last couple of weeks the crew that are there are loving life. Good consistant waves from the Peak to Periscopes and no crowd. No crowd only becuase Merpati Airlines here in Indo have cancelled all flights in and out for some reason.
