Keramas to Kuta Reef, 29th April 2011

29th April 2011
****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****

G’Day folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for today’s “1 click” run down on surfing and weather conditions from here on every surfers favorite surfing holiday destination of Bali.

This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing that wave height had dropped off back into the waist to head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. No surfers in the water at the time we checked (6.30AM). Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with bugger all wind.

Just for a change of scenery today the boys and I decided to take a run over to Keramas on the East Coast of Bali. But apparently turning up an hour too late, according to a couple of friendly Aussie surfers who had just come in from Keramas. But with only half a dozen surfers in the water the numbers were right, and there were still a few fun sized waist to head high set waves for a paddle. The wind was light on shore out of the SSE but still pretty clean all the same.

Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon we’ll be seeing another new swell hitting our reefs here in Bali. So tune in again tomorrow around the same time for the latest.

Tidal info for today had us down for a 1.9mtr High @ 8.00AM and then running out for a 0.8mtr Low around the 2.00PM mark.

Weather wise it’s been a typical hot and sunny day for the best part of it with just the odd cloud drifting over. Temperature wise the mercury would have easily pushed past the 30 degree Celsius mark and now at 3.00PM it would still be around 30C outside. The wind was light and variable earlier before the wind set in to a light SSE – SE by late morning.

Our sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be hitting Money Tree’s up to double head high on the set waves. Clean and glassy surfing conditions at the time (7.00AM). Six surfers in the water with some rides going from the top of Money Tree’s all the way past the Pad.

We’ve also got some new surfing / accommodation packages sorted out for those of you who want nothing more to think about except surfing, at the right place at the right time. Hit this info link to find out more.

Good news for any of you that want to get over to the legendary location of G-Land this year as baliwaves.com will still be dishing out a solid 15% discount off their advertised prices for the G-Land Surf Camp. All camps at G-Land will be re opening in March 2011 so if you want some un crowded G-Land get in early. Make sure you contact us first if you want that 15% rebate back in your pocket.

We’ve also been playing around with our “Surf Spots” page where we are currently up-dating with more locations, and an extra bonus of Bali street maps. So go and get yourself lost in there !

Best Regards from Bali
