****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Howdy friends and welcome to the weekend here on the baliwaves (’99) and the latest and greatest on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Kicking off the day with my mandatory surf check on the Outer Reefs @ 7.00AM to see that wave height had backed off a touch over night. Still showing in the chest to well over head range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Once again no shortage of surfers with Middle Reef being the pick while the tide was just starting to run back in. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind coming lightly out of the NE @ 2-4knot.
It was a tough call on where to take my crew, the forecasters were calling for wave height to be tapering off through out the day. The tide running up for a big and fat 2.5mtr High @ 11.00AM, wind light NE. So we took our chances and bee lined it too Canggu. As the photos in today’s surfing gallery prove, good call. Wave height was hitting the right hander in front of river mouth in a solid 3-4ft class (head to well over head high), and the wind was clean off-shore. But the surprising factor was that there was roughly only five surfers out there, and that’s about all, for the whole time were on location. The Left hander on the sand bar was empty for the first couple of hours, finally a couple of surfers hit just as we were leaving after lunch. The left hand reef break in front of the trendy little cafes also had a few solid waves for the 3-4 surfers on it.
Surfing conditions at Canggu remained clean and tidy even after the Tradewind started kicking in around 10.15AM. Still plenty of un crowded waves to be had as we were leaving @ 12.25PM.
This afternoon’s Low tide will be a reef exposing 0.1mtrs @ 5.00PM.
Weather wise it’s been classic Bali holiday weather all day. Nothing but blue sky and sun shine from day break. Right now @ 5.00PM the outside temperature is sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius, humidity on 66%. Wind direction is now coming out of the S-SSE @ 8-12knot.
Today’s G-Land Surf Report courtesy of our friends at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be still showing in the solid head to double head high plus sector. The best waves were hitting Kong’s down through Money Tree’s with the very occasional set hitting the Launching Pad. Surfing conditions at the time (8.30AM East Java) were clean and glassy with a light sea breeze. Only 4 surfers in the water getting some ok rides on Money Tree’s.

Traffic Up Date; Well the silly season (high season) is already apon us here in Bali. With a combination of international and domestic school holidays the traffic in and out of the Kuta to Seminyak area is total kaos. Starting from around 2.00PM and running through until 9.00PM. I went into town the night before last and even riding my motor cycle the traffic was insane.
