****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Howdy crew and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves (’99) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions to come out of every sane surfers favorite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Kicking off the day with our mandatory surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was still looking a healthy chest to well over head high. The tide was still running down at the time so Middle Reef was producing the best waves at head to well over head high. Around 10 surfers already in the water by 6.45AM. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with just a light NNE wind @ 1-2knot.
As it shows in today’s photo gallery the boys and I headed back down to the southern end of the island to the pretty little location of Balangan. Arriving at 9.30AM just as the tide was starting to run back in to see wave height peeling off the point at head to well over head high. At this stage there were only around 20 surfers scattered from the point and down through the middle section. The SE off shore Tradewind had also just started to kick in so everything was perfect for our days surf session. Even by the time we called it a day the number of surfers in the water was still down in the 25 – 30 mark. The tide was also flowing back in hard creating some backwash havoc.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.4mtr Low @ 8.00AM and then filling in with a 2.0mtr High around the 2.00PM mark.
Weather wise another beautiful day here on the holiday island with tonnes of blue sky and sunshine. Temperature wise the midday mercury would have easily busted the 30 degree Celsius mark. Wind direction this afternoon is coming hard out of the SE @ 16-18knot.
Ok just a quicky again today but we’ll be back out there again tomorrow nailing some more photos to help with the Bali day dreams. So tune back in for our Sunday Session on the baliwaves.

Hey Slim, I’ve got to say that I like the wide shots of Balangan. great to see rippers and barrels, but for us who know it, to see the lines curling in really brings the place alive. I can visualize being there.
Good on ya, Doc
