****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com (’99) for today’s news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Starting the day off with our mandatory surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban to reveal wave height showing in the chest to well over head class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the tide still running out Middle Reef was looking the best of the big 3 being better suited to the lower tide. Around 20 surfers already in the water on Middle’s by 7.30AM with clean and glassy surfing conditions, wind direction was coming lightly out of the WNW @ 1-3knot. As the tide started to fill in towards midday wave height was looking to be backing off a touch.
With the light wind we decided to head up to Canggu to see what was happening with the OAKLEY PRO JUNIOR event that has been on stand by since the 1st of this month. The waves at Canggu are better suited to the higher end of the tide so it wasn’t until mid morning that the event got underway. Then not much longer into the contest that the SE Tradewind kicked in with solid gusts of up to 18knot calling an end to the days proceedings. But as you can see in today’s photo gallery there was some nice waves hitting the left hand sandbar before the wind licked in.
Tomorrow has another intense new swell predicted to arrive and hopefully big enough to get the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup underway. Stay tuned to the baliwaves, because if it’s ON we’ll be there to cover it.
Today’s G-Land Surf Report thanks to our good friends at the G-land Surf Camp was calling in wave height to be lining up perfectly in the head to almost double head high class. With waves peeling down the reef from the bottom of Kong’s all the way down to the bottom end of the Launching Pad. At 8.00AM East Java time there were only 2 surfers in the water riding Money Tree’s. Don’t forget if any of our baliwaves.com viewers would like to get across for the ultimate surfing experience of G-Land just drop us a line here and I’ll fix you up with a 10% discount off any advertised packages at the G-Land Surf Camp.
We have also had a truck load of photos delivered to us fresh from G-Land thanks to “Bubsy” the G-Land Surf Camp in house photographer. So as soon as I get this stuff loaded up I’ll start on the G-land images.
Today’s Bali Tidal information was saying that we had a 0.5mtr Low @ 8.00AM and then running in for a 1.9mtr High @ 2.00PM.
Today’s Bali weather got off to a cloudy start with a few drops of rain through the early AM. But quickly clearing away for a mainly hot and sunny day by midday. Currently right now @ 5.00PM the outside temperature nis still a warm 27 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity on 70%. Wind direction is coming out of the SE @ 18knot+.
