****MORNING SURF UP DATE****
Howdy folks and welcome back to the baliwaves ’99 for the latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the with out a doubt No.1 tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
Alright now, yesterday the 10th was the Full Moon here and there was a lot happening on the Balinese Hindu calendar. My family and I were also quite busy with different ceremonies, (I think I covered around 300km’s in the car) but managed to snap a few photos from here and there. So I’ll run these until Ketut get’s back from Uluwatu with a new surfing gallery for us to check out. Ketut has phoned through to say that wave height is in the 3-5ft class down on the Main Peak and Temple sections of Uluwatu.
Anyway, this mornings 7.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing some nice looking waves for the lucky few that were already in the water. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was in the head to well over head range, with Middle Reef picking up the bigger sets as usual. Kuta Reef had consistant chest to head high waves peeling off, while Airports was a touch smaller.
Surfing conditions out there were clean and glassy with no noticable wind at the time, (yesterday the ESE-SE Tradewind made a solid re appearance with off shore wind here on the West Coast) and hopefully the Tradewind will kick in agan later this morning.
I also took a quick run up to Balian yesterday monring (5.5hrs) to drop off a few friends and there were some nice waves breaking on the A Frame river mouth (the water color still looked cleanish) and only around 4 surfers in the water + 12-15 European / Russian learners.
Tidal info for today has a 2.0mtr High @ 11.00Am and running out for a 0.5mtr Low around the 4.00PM mark.
Weather wise today so far, so good, we’ve had a mainly clear blue sky with the outside temperature currently on 29 degree’s celsius @ 9.30AM. Humidity level is on 79% and the wind now South @ 2-3knot. Sunrise @ 5.48AM and will set @ 6.17PM. More rain has been predicted for later today.
