****MIDDAY SURF UP DATE****
Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time out to call by the baliwaves ’99 for the latest in surfing and weather information from here on every sane surfers favorite tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
Well lets see, first off yesterday wave height was pretty damn small here along Bali’s West Coast. The morning surf check on the Outer Reefs had wave height in the 1-1ft+ sector between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Two of our guests decided to take a ride down to Uluwatu to see if there was anything much better down there. But… even Bali’s Premier surfing location was only in the waist to waist high plus sector.
This morning the 3rd and not much has changed with wave height looking even smaller on the Outer Reefs. I also made a call through to Hendra Surf Photography down at Uluwatu and was sadly told that it was another day for the surf schools to get out there and take on Ulu @ waist high.
So as it shows in today’s photo gallery we took a drive over to Serangan on Bali’s East Coast. Still knowing it was going to be small but hoping that at least there wouldn’t be too many other surfers about. Small waves there was, waist to waist high plus with not much shape and certainly no power. But at least the numbers were right with only 3 other surfers in the water when we showed up.
Oh well, better than no waves at all I suppose. Tomorrow we’ll be taking another little road trip and hopefully find some better waves for the boys.
Tidal info for today has us down for a reef exposing 0.5mtr Low @ 9.00Am and then filling back in with a 1.9mtr High around the 3.30PM mark.
Weather wise out there this morning we did drive through some rain on our way over to the East Coast but cleared up not long after. Currently right now @ 12.00 noon the outside temperature is sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius. Wind direction is now coming out of the West @ 4-7knot. Sunrise was at 5.50Am and will set at 6.26PM.
