15th – 16th March 2012
****MORNING SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for taking the time out to drop into the baliwaves.com (’99) to see what’s been happening here onyour favorite tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Hmm like the heading reads we made a run over to the East Coast of Bali yesterday (15th) around 9.00Am to score some as close as it gets to perfect waves. While we were in transit the wind was howling out of the NNW (not an ideal direction for this location) but within 10 minutes arriving it made the switch to more WNW and directly off shore. By no means we were at a “secret” location just your almost everyday run of the mill Bali waves.
Check out the 100+ photos I snapped off in our current photo gallery.
Even though there were a couple of International Prof surfers in the water along with some of Bali’s up and coming riders (and veterans) there was plenty of waves for all with a very consistent waist to well over head sized waves. When we packed up at 2.00PM there was only a handful of “average Joe” type surfers left in the line up and no change in surfing conditions, still perfect waves rolling through one after the other.
This morning the 16th and our 6.30Am surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing wave height to have bumped up a little. Up into the head to over head class, but with the wind already honking out of the NNW @ 15knot + and expected to keep building a little more through out the day. So once again the West Coast is out, East Coast in.
Tidal info for today has us down for a 0.7mtr Low @ 8.00Am and then filling back in with a 2.2mtr High @ 2.00PM.
Weather wise outside at the moment we have a mainly overcast start to the day (now 7.30AM). Temperature wise the mercury is sitting on 29 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity on 66%. Wind is NW @ 15knot+. Sunrise was @ 6.23AM and will set @ 6.32PM.
