****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves (since ’99) to see what’s been going down surf and weather wise right here on your favorite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This mornings 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing all the positive indicators for some good waves, somewhere in Bali. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was a consistent waist to head, with a clean and light off shore wind on it. I didn’t see any surfers out there at the time but I’m sure there would have been some fun waves had by someone.
As it shows in today’s photo gallery we made a bee line straight to Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Even though we got off to a lateish start arriving around 9.30AM it was surprising to only find around a dozen surfers in the water on the Main Peak and only another 3 riders down on the long walled Temple section. Surfing conditions at Ulu were perfect with the wind remaining light off shore for most of the time we were on location.
How’s the photos of Uluwatu local and one of the Lifeguards, Ketut Pitur riding that paddle board. What it was, Ketut spotted a small school of Tuna chopping the surface around 2 kms off shore so as he usually does, paddled out, caught his lunch, and then paddled back and surfed a wave into the shore. Hat’s off to the Uluwatu locals for being all surf friendly and welcoming people to the many international visitors calling into their peice of Bali.
Today’s tidal information had us down for a 1.9mtr High @ 10.00AM and then running out for a 0.7mtr Low around the 3.00PM mark.
Weather wise today it was much more like it with plenty of blue sky and sunshine for the beach people.Currently right now at 7.00PM the outside temperature is still a balmy 28 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity at 79%. Wind direction is now out of the North at 4knot.
