****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Howdy folks and welcome back to your baliwaves (since ’99) for the very latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the only sane choice to let go of your hard earned tropical surfing holiday dollars, Bali.
Ok then my day kicked off at 6.00AM with the usual mandatory surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban. At this stage there was no sign of any new swell with wave height still down in the 1-2ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. It wasn’t looking too good at all with the wind coming out of the NW @ 5-8knot and on shore.
So just to keep occupied I took the crew back up to Canggu where we knew we’d find a little more size and cleaner surfing conditions. As it shows in today’s photos I snapped we were pretty well right. Wave height was a fairly consistent waist to head high with the occasional bigger set wave on both the left hand sand bar and the right hand river mouth. The sand bar in my opinion was looking the best with only around 10 – 15 surfers on it, while the right hander was swarming with surfers and retro mal rider confusion.
Hopefully by tomorrow we should see some better sized waves around Bali with a predicted increase in wave height. Ketut will be doing the photo honors tomorrow as I’ll be attending my old mates cremation ceremony at Kuta Beach.
I also had Des text me through a report from over on the East Coast telling of clean off shore wind and already some tell tale signs of increasing waves.
The latest news from Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa was of near flat conditions this morning with around 100 eager surfers on location waiting for some waves.
Today’s Tidal information told of a 0.7mtr Low @ 7.00Am and then filling back in for a 2.3mtr High around the 1.00PM mark.
Weather wise today here in Bali it’s been a mainly clear and sunny day for the beach lovers. Currently right now at 5.30PM the outside temperature is sitting on a very pleasant 28 degree’s Celsius, Humidity @ 84%. Wind direction id currently West @ 10-12knot.
