Bali Sport Fishing Scene;
Hello to our fello fisho’s and thanks for checking out our baliwaves fishing scene.
I know it’s been awhile since I last up dated here, but with all the extra posts I’ve been doing on the site finding the time has been a little difficult. Especially after being out fishing all day from dawn till dusk then taking care of outboards and fishing gear I’m usually pretty well beat up and only enough hours left in the day to BBQ some of the catch.
The last week here on Bali’s West Coast has seen some exceptionally good sport fishing go down with the arrival of some big schools of GT’s, Tuna and Golden Trevelly, plus the odd bonus of some big Spaniards jumping out of the water. I managed to get my traditional 9mtr double outrigger boat out in the water with Ketut a few times over the last week and it was good to feel the power of some solid fish pulling on the other end of the line.
The best thing about this latest batch of fish is that they have been schooling up close to home, from Kuta Reef here in Tuban to the Oberoi Hotel up in Seminyak. There’s also been a lot of schools of Tuna churning up on the surface from Jimburan right sown to Padang Padang.
Home made spinners have been working the magic with a few GT’s also hitting the odd Rapala lure.
Ok so the fishing page / reports are back on the baliwaves so keep your eye open for more
Anyway if any of you guys and girls want to try , your luck with us for some Bali style sport fishing drop my an email (contact) and we’ll do our best to get you hooked up. The boys charge a minimum of AU$125.00 for up to 2 guests. All rods and reels are supplied and if we have good luck we’ll do you up a Balinese style fish BBQ at the end of the day, or you can take some fish back to your hotel and impress your friends.
Ok until next time

Yeah Dennery, that is a photo of the man…… “Ondel” I was out with him that day near Balian. I ended up having my best “stroker” trolling rod snapped and a solid Diawa H600 trolling reel de-geared / stripped. The fish in question we had to the top 3 times before he did one last charge for freedom… and made it. even Ondel reckoned she was well over the 60kg mark……….

I understand what did you shared with your friend looking at this 60+kg carangue disapearing, your fishing gear out of order!
