BALI
11th October 2012
Hi crew and welcome back to your baliwaves (sending it out since 1999) for the absolute latest and greatest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from right here on the only place for your next tropical surfing holiday destination, BALI.
I actually slept in a bit this morning and never woke up until 5.40AM so I didn’t get to get a head start on today’s load. So instead we hurriedly loaded the rental and made a bee line for Canggu here on the West Coast of Bali. Arriving around 7.00AM to find clean surfing conditions with an off shore Northerly wind, but wave height just a little too much for Canggu to handle. There were 3 surfers in the water but it was a bit of a washing machine with just too much water moving.
So knowing that the wind was soon to turn to the West and then maybe even further to the SSW we decided on heading back to my old favorite location of Kuta Reef. Even though the wind was light on shore out of the West by this time the wave face was still clean and smooth, only lacking the trademark open tubes. Wave height at KR was a solid head to head high plus and only around 15-20 surfers in the water while we were out there. Eventually at 11.15AM the wind did swing to the SSW putting a little bit more chop on the waves so we called it a day. Stand out surfer had to be local Tuban, “Sima”.
Ketut and Davey headed back over to Keramas to check the action at the OAKLEY WORLD PRO JUNIOR and the boys reckon the groms were going right off in some perfect Keramas waves. Likewise over there the Southerly eventually kicked putting and end to today’s proceedings but she’ll be back on again tomorrow. I’ll make sure the photos make it on line for ya’s today in our Readers Report page.
The next tide today here in Bali is going to be a 2.0mtr High at 7.33PM this evening.
Weather wise here on the holiday island it’s been another hot and sunny day with no complaints to be heard. Currently right now at 2.30PM the outside temperature is sitting on 29 degree’s Celsius, humidity level is at 66%.

Taco Lovers !
Hey Slim, we are at La Libre, 820 jalan raya Semer, right in front of Bali Buddha on the way to Canggu. Just say to mention the Baliwaves special and they get 3 tacos instead of 2 per plate and it’s already a surfer worthy portion. Thanks for the help and keep up the great work on your website. Cheers Jim
