BALI
24th October 2012
Hi folks and welcome back to the baliwaves.com (Bali’s original surf report site since 1999) for the latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from the only place worth spending your hard earned holiday dollars, BALI.
We got off to another early start this morning and on the road by 6.00AM. With the wind already coming lightly out of the NW and an expected drop in wave height we headed over to the East Coast in search of some uncrowded fun sized waves. Arriving at our first destination at 6.40AM to find absolutely perfect shaped waves and no surfers in sight. It was really a pity that the waves were not at least just another foot or so bigger. But as it was the boys were happy wih the numbers and keen to hit the perfect little right handers breaking at waist to shoulder high. A few other friendly surfers turned up about an hour and half later so we left it to them and headed back to Serangan for some breakfast and see what was happening there.
Serangan at 9.30AM was slightly bigger with 2-3ft set waves. Around 40 mainly learner long boarders from Japan in the water and the wind cross off shore now coming out of the WSW. We hung out for another couple of hours having something to eat and a quick beach side massage (gotta love that) before heading back to Home Base here in Tuban.
A quick surf check on the Outer Reefs just down the street and it was looking pretty ordinary to say the very least. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was just flopping onto the reef in the knee to waist high range. Strong on shore wind out of the WSW.
The next tide today here in Bali will be a 2.0 High just after sunset.
Weather wise it’s just been another typical Bali type day with lots of blue sky. Currently right now at 2.50PM the outside temperature is still sitting on 30C, humidity level is at 69%. Wind direction is WSW at 10-14knot.
Hopefully tomorrow will bring another bump in wave height so stay tuned right here on the baliwaves.com
