BALI
18th – 19th July 2013
Hello everyone and thanks for calling into the baliwaves.com (bringing you some Bali since 1999) this afternoon for the latest news and bewst views on surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of BALI.
Ok well yesterday the 18th as per the twitter reports I posted wave height on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban wa down into the 1-2ft range and not a lot happening worth busting out the camera equipment for. I did hear some news of a few waist to head high waves breaking down at Uluwatu but with the small size came the numbers.
But today is a different story and we were out on the road early making our way over to Bali’s East Coast to see if we couldn’t find us some right handers. Arriving around 6.45AM to find wave height hitting the main break in the 2-4ft range with a clean off shore wind fanning it. But we were not the only ones after a change of scenery with 25 surfers already in the water. But there were plenty of waves consistently pouring through. The crowd did settle down around 10.00AM and when we packed it up at 11.00AM there would have only been aomething like 12 surfers left in the water.
Sarge sent me through a text report from Uluwatu this morning where wave height was hitting the Main Peak section in the head to well over head high class. Around 40 surfers in the water at the time and the Racetrack showing promise for the low tide.
Weather wise it’s been a mainly hot to very hot day here in Bali, especially over on the black sanded beaches on the East side. Temperature wise right now at 5.30PM the mercury is still sitting on 27 degree’s Celius and the wind coming out of the East at 20kms. Humidity level is on 66% and the sun is going down at 6.16PM.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta; — 1AU$=Rp9,5050 — 1US$=10,000 — give or take a few Rupiah depending on vendor.
