BALI
15th -16th December 2013 (day 4 / 5)
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com (cutting you a small slice of Bali since 1999) for the latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on our favorite little tropical surfing holiday distination of Bali.
Yesterday mornings 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was still only showing wave height to be down there in the 1-2ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Rising tide and the wind coming outta the North at 4-5knot.
So as it shows in this current photo gallery we made our way to Canggu here on the West Coast where these conditons would be optimum. And indeed some fun waves were there to be had on all 3 of the main breaks in the Canggu area. The right hander in front of the river mouth was delivering some consistent 2-3 footers with the odd bigger freak set for the 28 surfers on it. The left hander in front of the warungs also had similar sized waves but also with 25-30 surfers. While the left hander on the sand bar had some punchy little lefts also in the waist to head high region with around 15 – 20 surfers on it. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the wind light off shore through until 10.30AM when she shifted around to the SSW.
No surf report in from Keramas which makes me think it was just too small for the effort over on the East side of the island.
Weather wise it wasn’t a bad start to the day with blue sky and sunshine. But this also changed by mid morning when the cloud started to drift in and the sky blacken and drop some heavy rain through the afternoon.

Today the 16th and at 6.45AM we have a dark overcast sky, and it’s raining somewhere in Bali right now for sure. The tide is running in for a 2.0mtr High at 9.30AM, no wind at all just yet. Wave height on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was looking slightly bigger with waist to head high waves between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Wind direction is once again out of the Northern quadrant.
