BALI
24th October 2014
Hello everyone and thanks again for dropping by the baliwaves.com (keeping you in touch with Bali since 1999) to find out whats been happening surf and weather wise not too mention all the photos. From right here on our favorite tropical surfing holiday destination called Bali.
Ok team just a quick one today as it’s getting late and the dinner bell is ringing right now at 7.40PM. My fault I guess as I opted for an afternoon siesta. But anyway here’s 60 photos that we snapped off here along Bali’s West Coast this morning. Wave height as you can see was a nice little punchy 2-3ft with the off slightly bigger freak set every now and again. With plenty of both left and right handers on offer. Crowd wise at 6,30AM it was pretty light in the line up, but by 9.30AM with the rising tide it did get a bit frantic in the water.
Our surf check on the Outer Reefs just after midday was showing some nice sized waves ranging between head to almost double head high from Kuta Reef to Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with a light off shore wind
But not a perfect day here on the island of the Gods with yet another surfing tragedy taking place out at Kuta Reef. I don’t have all the details but there was according to friends an Australian male aged around 50 lost his life while surfing at Kuta Reef.
Weather wise it’s been a mainly hot and sunny day with some clouds drifting by from time to time. Temperature wise the midday mercury would have busted into the 30 degree Celsius range.
