BALI
31st May 2015
Hello everyone and thanks again for droppin ginto the baliwaves (keeping your Bali fix covered since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
Ok so this particular photo gallery was shot at the very photographic location of Balangan beach here on Bali’s West Coast a couple of days back (that already feels like a week ago).
Our first surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban that morning was still showing wave height breaking in the head to double head high range from Kuta Reef to Airport Left. And there was nice waves breaking on all 3 of the main breaks, the fresh off shore wind may have been a bit too much for the right hander to be working but ya never know unless ya go right. But alas all 3 breaks were looking a little bit busy with early risers and the promise of more still to come.
So we opted for a trip down to Balangan where we knew it wouldn’t be too busy and the waves should be good. Arriving at 8.00AM to find chest to almost double head high waves breaking on the point and middle sections and only around 15 surfers scattered through the line ups. With the tide now running out the wave shape was only getting better (shallow) and better but by around 10.00AM the European learner sector started turning up in numbers. And why not it was a beautiful warm and sunny morning in Bali, Indonesia.
Ok that’s about it for Balangan on the 31st of May. What I have coming up for ya’s in the next hour or so is our baliwaves coverage from the Uluwatu Boardriders Challenge that also went down in absolutely pumping waves at Uluwatu (Bali’s Premier surfing location). So get a little bit of work down while your waiting and check back soon if you haven’t already signed up for our email surf reports.
