BALI / INDONESIA

Hello everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves (Bali’s original surf report website since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on your favorite tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
This morning we were up early and heading up the coast to Funggu, arriving at 6.30AM to find wave height hitting all 3 main breaks in the 2-4ft class (chest to well over head). Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with maybe just a light off shore wind that lasted through until around 9.00AM when it shifted more to the WSW. For Funggu there was hardly any surfers with only around a dozen or so in the water which was a nice change. But on the way home the traffic build up on the narrow roads still seemed to be the same as ever.
We were also treated a very colorful Balinese Hindu “Melasti” ceremony that was taking place on the beach. Great to have happy smiling and friendly faces all around us today.
Weather wise what would you expect if you were in Bali ? hot and sunny with the midday temperature well into the 30’s on the Celsius scale.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali, — 1US$=13,450 — 1AU$=Rp9,810 — (the best I spotted today in Seminyak)
Unfortunately Mt Rinjani in Lombok is spewing out more volcanic ash and Denpasar airport has been closed at some stages on and off. It appears that some flights are still operating but Australian budget airlines and even some Garuda flights have been cancelled. Hopefully Thursday will bring better news and the airport open for more International travelers to come and enjoy Bali. BTW there is now smoke or ash at ground level here in Bali, the action is km’s up in the sky.
Not sure about where to stay or where the best waves for you will be on your next Bali surfing holiday then you had better follow this link and see what we can offer you.
