BALI / INDONESIA
26th – 27th June 2017
Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Well yesterday the 26th and as it shows in today’s color loaded photo gallery Ketut was up the coast a little ways from home at the ever popular (beautiful people) location of Canggu. Wave height was in the 2-4ft class and surfing conditions clean and tidy until the SE Trade Wind kicked in around 9.30AM. Just looking at the photos it looks like the boys and girls scored some pretty waves on the Sand bar and the river mouth of Pererenan. Ketut said there was no shortage of surfers at Canggu yesterday with around 60 surfers in the water.
NB, due to the shape of Bali island when the dry season SE Trade wind kicks in, usually around 9 – 9.30AM surfing conditions turn off with this wind blowing cross / on shore from North Seminyak all the way up the Medewi. The best wind for these locations are and ENE – N wind.
Weather wise yesterday it was a nice sunny morning but by around 10.00AM there was a lot of cloud moving in.
Yesterday I was out sport fishing with my crew, can’t surf everyday at my age right. We had a good one with the Spanish Mackerel and Tuna on the bite all day and hitting our lures hard. We lost as many fish as we caught. If anyone of you surfer / fisho’s want to try your luck trolling, casting, popping, jigging or bottom bashing just contact us here at baliwaves and we’ll hook you up with local fishermen that really know how to fish and won’t break your bank (but we don’t serve club sandwiches or martini’s while we fish) I’ll load some more photos and a full report into our baliwaves FISHING REPORTS section later today.
Today the 27th and our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing, or I should say not showing much at all. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was in the 0-1ft class. But surfing conditions were clean and glassy with a light ENE breeze. Best bet fot a wave today would be down at Uluwatu or up along the beach breaks of Legian you might find a sweet little bank for a splash. And just maybe those who got up early and headed over to the East coast might have done alright as well.
Weather wise outside right now at 8.30AM we have a pure blue sky in Tuban. temperature wise the mercury is already at 26 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 84%. Wind direction is coming out of the East at 8 – 13knot and will probably get stronger through out the day.
Swell forecast is looking like today and tomorrow the 28th it’s still going to be pretty small here along Bali’s West coast but come Thursday the 29th we should be rolling in waves all over the island through into July.
Ok I hope you all are having a nice day if not get your ticket to Bali booked and you will soon be all smiles, see you soon peeps.
Oh yeah and with the current holidays here in Indonesia and all over the World you can certainly expect horriffic traffic kaos pretty much all over the island for the next week. So allow extra time to keep those schedules.
