BALI / INDONESIA
3rd – 4th August 2017
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
So like we mentioned, yesterday the 3rd our team was back down at Uluwatu waiting for the predicted swell (3-4mtrs) to appear. But as it shows in this latest photo gallery we’ve loaded up wave height didn’t quite make it. Although at times it was showing some promise with a few triple head high set waves as the morning wore on. Testy conditions at best with some strong off shore SE-SSE wind blowing hard up the faces and even a little bump on it just to make it a little more difficult. There was some quality surfing going down and a few broken boards as well. The last handful of photos we shot from down at our friends place, SUARA OMBAK over looking Bingin and Impossible’s Just click on their banner if you would like more info on these unique bungalows. Oh Yeah Bingin was just about maxing out, pushing double head high set waves after lunch.
Today the 4th and our morning surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height to have already started backing off (for now). Wave height was in the 2-4ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left with the odd double head high set wave hitting Middle Reef. Surfing on the Outers with a strong off shore SE Trade Wind is also pretty tricky with the reefs located 800mtrs off shore and open to all the wind.
So we took another run back down the coast and managed to score some semi un crowded waves in the head to double head high range or 3-5ft in the traditional wave height call. The wind was also getting pretty strong but it’s always a little better under the shelter of the bukit cliffs. Stay tuned and I’ll get another batch of photos for ya’s ASAP.
Weather wise another mainly over cast day with splashes of sun shine down on the South end of the island. Nice and warm with the midday temp peaking at 28 degree’s Celsius and there were plenty of people taking advantage of the Bali weather in board shorts and bikini’s.
Alright then that’s us for now but fingers crossed we will see some sewrious swell hitting Bali by tomorrow morning and we will see the running of the 2017 RipCurl Padang Padang Cup. If it’s on we’ll have it covered so keep an eye on the original Bali surf report.
New G-Land surf report has been loaded thanks to our mates at Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp. The owners are offering some good deals for their surf camp at the moment and we have upped the anti a bit more with 15% discount on offer, but you need to contact us here at baliwaves first to score the discount ok.
Changing dollars to Rupiah — 1US$=Rp13,220 — 1AU$=Rp10,510 — 1EU$=Rp14,750 —
One last thing I should mention is to please take care when your in Bali, don’t forget to pack your common sense and awareness. There has been a lot of snatch and grabs done on tourist hand bags with women being the major target (weak bastards). The local Balinese and Police are all over it and catching quite a few perps but there are still plenty of thieves out there. Most impotantly do not carry your credit cards and passport with you on the street.
The Owner at Damai Bungalows up in South Sumatra has given us the go ahead to offer any of our viewers a solid 10% discount at their perfect hide away surf haven. You just have to contact us here at baliwaves first to save some money.
While your here make sure you check out all our sponsors / advertisers and help us by supporting them as well, thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves
