BALI / INDONESIA
5th – 6th September 2017
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping you in touch with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
That’s right after looking at these latest photos we’ve loaded you know we were down on the Southern end of the island. We turned up around 7.15AM to find wave height coming through in the 2-4ft (chest to over head high range) and the wind coming clean off shore out of the ESE. Crowd wise it was un usually crowded with maybe 40 surfers* already in the water. Now I now you guys and girls understand what I’m talking about but let me tell you how dangerous it can be with learners / kooks on high volume boards out in the line up in over head waves, instead of them being on a lonely beach break actually learning to surf.
I was watching one surfer getting barreled yesterday at Balangan and I do mean barreled he was in there for maybe 3 seconds and deep when some kook paddles for his wave then pulls back realizing it was to steep for him then goes sailing over the falls right onto the guy in the tube’s head. When they surfaced all tangled up the kook pretty much paddled away while the good surfer made his way to sure nursing a nasty head and neck wound. It could have been worse, much worse (touch wood).
Weather wise yesterday it was mostly sunny with some cloud drifting through, temperature wise it was at least 30 degree’s Celsius by midday.

Another important issue for the locals here in Bali especially with winter going down in the Southern Hemisphere and the season for super flu in Australia. Please don’t bring flu’s and virus strains with you on holidays. Make sure you get to the Doctor first before getting on the plane and infecting all the passengers and then maybe infecting everyone you come in contact with here in Bali. You wouldn’t go to work with the Flu so don’t bring it to Bali please.
