BALI / INDONESIA
30th Sept – 1st Oct 2017
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping you in touch with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Mt Gunung up date, Well not much has changed here on the ground in Bali. Except there’s been a lot of international and social media doomsdayers saying the end is near. Yes everyday I’m reading news on the imminent destruction of Bali from our ancient volcano, My Agung. Everyday I’m reading “she’s ready to blow” take care. Well life goes on and it if does blow, then it blows and everyone is still safe and sound here on the holiday island. All the gossip media has done has sent Bali holidaymakers into a confused turmoil of cancelling flights and holidays to Bali, well done diks.
Just a thought for anyone worried about coming to Bali and having their flights cancelled in case the Mt does erupt. The best chance is to not fly with Jetstar or Virgin airlines (from Australia) for starters if possible, try Garuda or Air Asia. You could also fly into Lombok and grab a ferry across to Bali, or even fly into Jakarta and catch a domestic flight to Bali (as long as the airport stays open and it should). Anyway fingers crossed Mt Agung goes back to sleep.
Surfwise wave height is still hanging in there in the 2-5ft class (waist to double head high) depending on where your surfing of course. The last couple of days we have gone from the far South to the far North West chasing waves with our crew. That’s where this current photo gallery has been shot. Uluwatu saw out the end of September with some fun sized 2-4ft waves hitting the Main Peak and Racetrack sections with un usually low numbers in the line up. While yesterday the second up at Balian was almost looking like a ghost town with a mere 20 surfers in the line up and head to almost double head high set waves peeling off.
This morning the 2nd of October and our morning surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban at 7.00AM had 1-3ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The bigger set waves were on Middle Reef, clean and glassy surfing conditions with the wind only just present out of the West.
Weather wise outside right now at 9.45AM we have a light overcast sky with the mercury sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius. Humidity level is at 86%. Wind direction is now coming out of the S-SSW at 1-4knot.
Ok I’ve also posted some news from our friends at the Canggu (expats) how they have donated a Defibrillator (heart resuscitation machine, AED) to the Canggu lifeguards. So us older surfers can feel a little safer at Canggu. Check our News Feed for the story.
Ok have a good one what ever your up to today and stay tuned right here to the original Bali surf report website for more news and info as it happens.
While your here make sure you check out all our sponsors / advertisers and help us by supporting them as well, thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves
