WSL Corona Bali Protected
Keramas, Bali 28th May 2018
As scheduled the Corona Bali Protected Pro surfing event got under way on the 27th with the morning Round 1 session scoring some perfect and pristine 5-6ft+ waves. I only managed to watch a couple heats live on the WSL app as we were commited to scoring some near perfect waves ourselves on our home break of Kuta Reef, as per baliwaves.com.
But we did make it over to Keramas to catch some of the Round 2 elimination heast this morning. And to tell you the trurh I wouldn’t have wanted to be a judge with the explosive on edge surfing that was going down. We never made it over until 8.45AM striking some bad luck traffic on the way. By this time the SE TRade wind had already started to kick in and the combatants in the water were also having to deal with some shifty solid over head to almost triple head high waves with the wind blowing cross on shore just to make it that extra hard to earn their pay check and move on into Round 3.
There was also a good turn out of spectators cheering on their favorite rock star like surfers even though shade and dry sand was at a premium at Keramas. Anyway check out the photos we snapped this morning and don’t worry we will be back over to Keramas to follow up on today’s coverage. So stay tuned right here with the original Bali surf report website ok
A big thanks to the WSL for having baliwaves at the show !
