Super Bank / Australia; 22nd July 07
The current south swell peaked on the Gold Coast late on Friday it then continued to supply us with swell throughout the weekend. The wind has been real strong and really c-c-c-cold from the southeast.
A gradual drop in swell size should occur in the next few days as swell direction shifts around to the SSE as the swell generated across the southeastern Tasman Sea begins to impact the Gold Coast.
These shots are from Saturday afternoon the 21st .
There was a host of local rippers out including former professional surfer Richard Cram who was out there on a fish shape jamming some of those high-speed cutbacks that he was so famous for in the ‘80s.
Jay Phillips was out as well ripping the place to pieces and of course the Parkinson family.
Sorry if this report is starting to look like the Parkinson show but hey if they’re getting the waves, they’re getting the best shots!!
There were still some great waves on offer today with Snapper Rocks board riders club holding a club round out there today.
It was overcast and raining a bit so I didn’t break out the camera gear
So that meant there wasn’t too many leftovers for the rest of the crew.
Tom Parko scored a 10-point ride for a 10 second barrel that had everyone frothing.
There have been smaller waves further down the point at Greenmount but as usual with a south swell they’re more suitable for longboards .
Tomorrow should be ok again but a bit smaller all round.
High tide’s about 3pm and low tide at 8.30am tomorrow.
