Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so for starters we are very happy to report that there have been no more Earth Tremors rocking Bali since 3 days ago, and fingers crossed lets hope it stays that way. Just out of interest if you check the daily history of Earth Quakes / Tremors in Indonesia you would find them happening multiple times daily right across the archipelago. Well most days anyways.
So here’s another fresh photo gallery that our team shot up the coast at the always popular surfing location of Canggu. As it shows wave height was hitting a solid 4ft on the bigger set waves on both the River mouth and the Sandbar. We were on the scene by 8.15am and even by that time even though the waves were still surf able the wind was already blowing cross / shore out of the ESE. This happens everyday at Canggu when the ESE Trade wind kicks in between May and September anytime between 8.00 – 10.00am. But still if your used to cross / on shore waves there’s still fun to be had. Weather wise yesterday it was a dull old day here in Bali pretty much that way all day.
Today the 20th and our 7.00am surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing a nice bump in wave height with 3-5ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still a bit low at the time so Middle’s had the best waves happening.
From there our team took a run down to the South end of the island to see what was happening at a very well known and mechanical left hand set up. Ketut was calling in wave height hitting the shelf at 3-4ft with some nice early morning tubes on offer while the tide was still out. I’ll see how the photos turned out and post up some asap.
Weather wise today it’s been pretty nice outside with a mostly blue sky and now at 12.20pm. Temperature wise it’s on 28C with Humidity on 74% and UV index at 7. Wind direction is ESE with gusts up to 30km/h.
NB; The RipCurl Padang Padang Cup is currently on HIGH ALERT for a possible start on the 22nd of July. Time is running out with the waiting period ending on the 31st of July. So fingers crossed we get the waves and the contest run. As I mentioned in our Surf Forecast / Surf Report section there is also a slightly bigger swell in transit for the 23rd – 24th
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is looking like we will receive another foot or so bump in wave height again but with strong off shore ESE wind. Expect an early morning LOw Tide so choose your location to suit.
Further out we are hoping to see a couple of big swells hit Bali / East Java almost back to back on between late on the 21st through till the 24th. Stay tuned for more swell forecasts and info here on baliwaves.com
