BALI / INDONESIA
11th – 12th November 2019
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so yesterday the 11th we took a spin over to the East Coast hoping to find some secluded waves, well actually just hoping to score some nice rights. Our primary location had the right numbers with only 3 other surfers in the water but wave height was only just in the waist high range and not even enough coming through for the 3 in the water, so we let them have it and headed up to Keramas. Keramas was a little bit more consistent and did have some head high waves on offer with around 20 surfers in the line up. With the wind already starting to switch to the SSW we hit the water and made the most of the small conditions on the East side.
This morning the 12th (these current photos were shot up the coast on the weekend) and as per our Bali morning surf & weather video report on Twitter and Insta wave height has bumped quite a bit in the last 24hrs here on the West Coast. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was showing in the head to double head high class with a light Westerly wind on it at 7.15am. The tide was still running up at the time and due to a big ceremony we have on today here in Tuban there were no reef taxi’s to take the surfers out to the waves. It was self service with paddle out only if you want to surf. Quite a few takers doing the paddle option with at least 20+ on Kuta Reef. I do have to say it was looking pretty good.
Nb; I reckon I’ve made the paddle out and back at least 1000 times over the years and my best ever time out to Kuta Reef was 14mins paddling and kicking hard as I could all the way. It’s not the paddle out that’s hard. It’s paddling back in after a 2-3hr surf, hungry and tired.
Weather wise out there today we had a partly over cast start to our day here in Bali but now at 11.00am it’s starting to clear up and the sun heating up. The temperature is currently on 29C with the Humidity on 65% and UV index is at 4. The wind I had to go outside and do an old fashioned check and is at the moment fresh out of the West. Even though Buoyweather has it predicted at ESE, Windy is showing East and the Airport saying it’s Northerly. Go outside and check if if you want to know what way the wind is blowing in Bali at this time of the year.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.4mtr Low at 3.34pm. We also have a Full Moon rising tonight so expect bigger tidal ranges over the next few days.
Tomorrows Swell Forecast is showing wave height to be backing off a touch but I’m sure there will be plenty of swell hitting our West Coast but smaller over on the East Coast. The wind is predicted to be ESE turning SE but best you do your own wind check, where ever you are in Bali as it will vary slightly.
Alright then that’s about us for today but make sure you take a good look through the baliwaves as we do have a few new reports and items of interest loaded in there for everyone.
