BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
223rd – 25th November 2020
Hello to everyone tuning into the baliwaves and firstly thanks for all your support for the baliwaves.com We really could not have survived through this pandemic without your most appreciated help. It certainly has been an up and down, mostly down ride for most people here in Bali. Here at ground level in Bali it really is about survival for your average Balinese. For myself it’s all about getting through one day at a time, and some days are definitely better than others. The pandemic is dragging on and the longer it goes the more damage to the average persons mental health is really being stretched. We have made it through 11 months of no Family income only through the kindness and consideration of our friends. A big deep heart felt thanks to everyone who has considered our well being here in Bali.
OK well since my last fishing binge that only produced just enough food for my family (mostly bait fish) I’ve been side lined with a few nasty little cuts on my legs. It can get a bit rough out there in our little boats, especially when your in someone else’s. But there is always plenty of jobs to do around the house and yard.
But this morning the 25th the lads and myself took a run over to the East Coast to see what was going down at Keramas. The wind has been on shore here on the West coast, mostly coming out of the WNW-WSW. This morning was no different. As it shows in today’s photos wave height at Keramas was in the chest to over head high (2-4ft). By the time we arrived just after 8am, unusually thick traffic through the Sanur to Gianyar area for some reason, taking an hour from South Kuta.
There were 15 surfers in the water with the tide just starting to run down (middle of the moon phase pretty much) and the wind just starting to puff up out of the WSW. We only hung out for an hour or so as the wind was slowly getting stronger and the tide lower. By that time there were 20 surfers in the water and still a few waves hitting the main break.
Weather wise it’s been mostly over cast with a little bi of over night rain. Right now at 12.30pm it’s still mostly overcast with the temperature still a warm 31 degree’s Celsius. Humidity level is at 71% and that’s been rough at night without the air conditioner. Wind direction is just about straight outta the West at 14km/h.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is saying to expect another slight drop in size and I don’t think we will be seeing to much swell at all between now and the first week of December. Wind direction is predicted to be light and variable early before settling into the WSW by mid morning.
I’ve also thrown a few photos from our local beach at the end of today’s gallery. I took those photos around 11.00am with the beach totally empty. That’s pretty much the norm around here with the afternoon filling in with locals and domestic tourists getting in a cooling afternoon dip.
I haven’t heard any official news yet from the G-Land camps but I think it would be a safe bet to say that they would just about be done for the year, no swell and on shore winds / rain. But if your interested in a good deal for 2021 drop us a line and we will save you a bunch of dollars.
As expected with the Corona Virus still running rampant through Indonesia and most of the World for that matter, It really comes as no surprise with the first announcement from Qantas Airways in Australia saying that proof of vaccination to board their International fleet to be mandatory. I think that’s going to be the normal in regards to International travel in the coming year(s). It’s probably going to be the only way that this virus can be eradicated for good.
