Thanks again for staying tuned to the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since back in 1999).
Hi people just a quick up date for now. Plenty more of those perfect waves were to be had again yesterday around the island of Bali. With the tide just coming off the bottom and the wind fresh out of the North it didn’t take us long to make the call to head up the West coast a little way to get the must barrels for our buck.
As it shows in this current photo gallery wave height was a respectable head to well over head high and at 7.45am the wind fresh off shore. There was the usual show of local stand out surfers tearing it up on both of the main sections. But still, plenty of waves filtering through to the average Joe’s as well. Surfing conditions stayed clean and tidy before the SE Tradewind started to kick in around 9.45 and slowly build up it’s momentum of cross / on shore wind.
Crowd wise at Canggu it was pretty much stock standard crowded on both the Sand bar lefts and the Pererenan right hand river mouth.
Weather wise there was a bit of cloud moving through early before settling into just another hot and sunny Bali type day.
Tomorrows (9th May) Surf Forecast is calling for another bump in wave height with the period pushing out to 15 seconds, could be interesting. We can also expect more ESE wind, although we did see some on shore NW wind today the 8th. We will check it out early and load a morning surf and weather video report onto our FB page.
The National holidays that are currently in full swing come to an end soon and by Monday we should see much tamer traffic. So, in the meantime make sure you allow a little extra time and patience if you’re driving anywhere.
