Hi friends we really want to thank everyone who has helped us get through the pandemic and total lack of income. I’m so happy to see the speed at which Bali is coming back into swing again. But baliwaves needs camera equipment to carry on, usually we upgrade / burn out our old gear around every 4 yrs. This time round we went 6yrs and were very lucky to get through. But hopefully (fingers crossed) we are on track and on the come back trail again. Please don’t give up on us through this as hopefully we are on the last leg. If you could spare a dollar or two (every dollar makes a difference) then hit this link https://www.baliwaves.com/2020/08/baliwaves-needs-your-support/
Please don’t hesitate to drop us an email for any Bali surf and accommodation info and we’ll do our best to help out.
Yesterday the 1st and we made another early morning run back up to Canggu. With the small waves and light variable wind it was an obvious choice and delivered similar size waves as the previous with a clean off shore wind. The early morning low tide had the best waves on the Pererenan Sandbar but as the tide started to fill back in the right hander on the river mouth also had a few small but fun sized waves. Surfing conditions stayed clean until the wind shifted to the SSW around 10.00am. That’s also about the time you need to get out of Canggu as the sleepy party town starts to wake up and the roads in and out start to get grid locked.
Crowd wise the sandbar would had between 15-25 surfers while the river mouth rights had another 15+. Looking down towards Batu bolong and Berawa it was just sea of bodies packed in so tight. Must have been a couple of hundred by mid morning.
Weather wise it’s been a mixed bag of rain and sunshine.
Today the 2nd and with the wind forecasts pointing to SE-SSE wind this morning we though we would sneak down the coast to Balangan and have some fun little low tide waves to ourselves. With no wind present when we left home at 6.20am everything looked on track. No, not to be arriving to find a fresh NNW wind. Still a few little waves and only 2-3 surfers in the water.
Weather wise we had more heavy overnight rain and there was still a little bit left over for this morning. Now at 3.00pm we do have some blue sky and a temperature of 31C, Humidity level is at 77%.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for more small waves around Bali and we won’t know what the wind is doing until we get to the beach is my call.
Ok crew thanks again for tuning in, Ketut and I hope your Sunday is going smoothly and you have a good comfy seat for this afternoons footy grand final (if your in NSW / QLD that is). We will be back out again in the morning hoping to find a few waves so stay tuned to our baliwaves FB page for the morning surf & weather video report. It’s almost time for me to go try and find a chair for the game.
We have also added some boardshorts and trucker caps into our original baliwaves surf wear page so check it out and order up some quality made apparel exclusive to baliwaves.

Breaking News Department. Petrol has jumped 30% in price from the 4th of September so be prepared for slight increases in all prices on just about everything here in Bali. The first of the increases was LPG, our 5kg refills have gone from Rp135K now at 230K for the same fill. 95% of Indonesia runs on gas for cooking so that’s going to hurt everyone.

How’s the zombie problem at Canggu, Slim?
Hey Tom, it seems to be getting better around the beach buddy, but the digital nomads are as zombie as it gets
LOL I’m not even remotely shocked. Seemed like “digital nomad” was just a new branding for the espresso slurping hipster zombies hahaha.
You hit the nail on the head Tom !!!
