Hi friends we really want to thank everyone who has helped us get through the pandemic and total lack of income. I’m so happy to see the speed at which Bali is coming back into swing again. But baliwaves needs camera equipment to carry on, usually we upgrade / burn out our old gear around every 4 yrs. This time round we went 6yrs and were very lucky to get through. But hopefully (fingers crossed) we are on track and on the come back trail again. Please don’t give up on us through this as hopefully we are on the last leg. If you could spare a dollar or two (every dollar makes a difference) then hit this link https://www.baliwaves.com/2020/08/baliwaves-needs-your-support/
Please don’t hesitate to drop us an email for any Bali accommodation info and we’ll do our best to help out.
Yesterday the 3rd and we thought we would try and get a few un crowded rights for a change. Seeing it is almost that time of the year with light and variable wind. The only thing I was thinking was that maybe there wouldn’t be enough swell. But as it shows in today’s photo gallery we didn’t do too bad and pretty much got what we were hoping for. Wave height was in the chest to head high range and surfing conditions were clean and glassy before the wind started to puff out of the SW around 9.30am. Crowd wise there were 4 other surfers in the water when we arrived but it was soon down to 3 and then just 1.
Weather wise around the island it’s been a mixed bag, patches of hard sunshine and then an hour or two it’s been raining. But still with the Bali tropical warmth and humidity.
Today the 4th and our 6.45am surf check on the Outer reefs of South Kuta had wave height in the 1-3ft sector. A slight bump in wave height with Middle Reef picking up the best size on the morning run out tide. Clean and glassy surfing conditions and it has still is now at 11.20am with bugger all wind out there. The only problem with surfing the Outer Reefs these days when it’s small is the crazy amount of surf schools getting out there and causing havoc. But I guess it is the best opportunity for them in the smaller conditions right.
Weather wise out there this morning it seems to be the normal with early morning sunshine and then turning overcast with rain around 9.30am. Right now at 11.40am the temp is on 27C, humidity is at 90% and you can feel it.
The next tide today is going to be a 1.7mtr High @ 6.35pm
Tomorrows Surf Forecast has the wave models predicting a slight bump in size that will be more visible early morning. Wind direction is predicted to turn back to the ESE-SE quadrant but we will waitand see on that.

Breaking News Department. Petrol has jumped 30% in price from the 4th of September so be prepared for slight increases in all prices on just about everything here in Bali. The first of the increases was LPG, our 5kg refills have gone from Rp135K now at 230K for the same fill. 95% of Indonesia runs on gas for cooking so that’s going to hurt everyone.
