Hi everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves for the latest news and best views on today’s surfing and weather conditions. Direct from your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination. Life is always better in Bali !
Hello Bali surfers and I do have to say since Nypie day we have been flat out, but not all about surfing unfortunately. I’ve had so much to get through but hey I’ve got through it all and we are back in the saddle again, so lets “giddy up” and get back into some tasty waves. We were up on Bali’s West coast yesterday and that’s where Ketut smashed these photos. As it shows, hard barreling lefts with a few rights thrown in for good measure. These waves were breaking over a sand bottom but don’t think getting slammed in the sand is much better than hitting reef or rock.
This morning the 26th an we were back close by again, but chasing rights. We arrived at our destination just on sun up to find some sick looking rights peeling off and only 3 surfers in the water. We didn’t need any prompting, I was just thinking that I had brought the wrong board. The tide was still pretty low and the wind clean off shore. A few more surfers turned up taking the total crowd to 12 and things were still looking fantastic. But as the tide started to push back in it was like some turned off the wave tap / valve. After a couple of hours we were lucky to see 1-3 footers coming through every 20 mins or so and needless to say time for breakfast.
Weather wise and another very hot and sultry morning with the temp easily busting through the low 30’s on the Celsius scale. Then here in South Kuta at 2.30pm we had a rain storm that belted down cats and dogs for a good 30 mins. Now at 4.50pm we are left with an overcast sky and the chance on a thunderstorm later this evening.
Tomorrows Surf forecast is calling for similar sized waves again through the early am with maybe even a slight bump in size. Wind direction is predicted to be light and variable before dedicating to the SSW.
That’s all I’ve got today as I want to make it down to the beach for a quick swell check to help with tomorrow’s call. Reports in from Uluwatu today was of 2-4ft waves with over 100 learners in the water. So Ulu might be off our list until we start to see some crowd killing swell hitting Bali.
Have a great day what ever or where ever you are and get ready for another surfing week here in Bali tomorrow.
If anyone of our regulars has an old GoPro at home they would like to donate to us at baliwaves we would be forever grateful. I did have a GoPro 7 but last year the rubber seal covering the on/off button perished and is now not water tight.
