Hi everyone and just another quick report to get us back on track. As I put out there on our facebook page the last couple of days my sole focus was getting my boat back in the water as times are still lean here for us, although a lot better than through the Bali lock down. I’m going to be needing my old boat to help feed the family a nit longer yet.
Yesterday the 16th and it was good to see a nice swell pushing into the Outer reefs here in South Kuta. There were some very nice waves on all of the main sections from Kuta reef to Airport Right. Average eave height was in the head high class with Middle Reef scoring waves up to double head high. No shortage of learner *surfers turning up from dawn till dusk. It was a little crazy but so good to see waves peeling off with a clean off shore wind just about all day.
This morning the 17th and I thought we would sneak down to Balangan, under the radar. I was counting on wave height to still be in the chest to well over head high class but I wasn’t to sure about the wind. Normally Balangan on a dropping tide is usually pretty quite. What I’ve noticed over the Euro boom days of Bali is that they don’t like the low tide and don’t like to get out of bed to early. That works perfectly for me. As it shows in our gallery from down there today wave height was as expected and the early morning wind was only light and varying all over the compass. We lucked in, as by 10.30am and the tide filling in the crowd, as expected did start arriving in numbers.
Weather wise it’s been a mostly hot and sunny day with just a little cloud blowing across from time to time. Right now at 4.00pm the temp is still a warm 30C, humidity is at 85%. Wind direction looks like it is now back light out of the East. I’m also thinking there is a big chance of some thunderstorm later this evening.
Tomorrow’s surf Forecast is calling for wave height to be dropping off through out the day. Wind direction is predicted to be light and variable early before SSE-SE by around midday.
Ok team thanks again for dropping in and we will have some more news and views for you again tomorrow arvo. Be good and stay safe.
