Hello surfers and thanks for tuning into the baliwaves for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here in Bali.
Just like the photos show seeing as though we had light wind yesterday we decided on making a run down to Uluwatu to see what was happening. Wave height was only in the 2-3ft+ range (head to head high plus) and mainly clean and smooth surfing conditions. Crowd wise when we arrived at 9.30Am there were only 12 other surfers in the water on the Main Peak, and two more up on the Temple section. When we left at 11.45Am there would have only been 8.
What I like about Uluwatu is that yo can always count on seeing someone getting shacked on the Main Peak or Racetrack section no matter how big or small the waves are. Plus it’s so comfortable hanging out in the cliff side cafes and out of the sun.
This mornings 6.30Am surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have backed off down into the 1-2ft class or knee to waist high at best. Surfing conditions are no where near as clean this morning with the wind fresh out of the WNW @ 5-8knot.
Tide wise today we have a 1.4mtr High @ 8.00Am and then not much difference for a 1.1mtr Low around 2.00Pm
Looking for a wave today, my pick would be to head over to the East Coast and with the wind out of the WNW I’d say Keramas would have to be worth a look. But you could probably score a wave anywhere over that side of the island from Nyang Nyang north.
Weather wise we did have some thick cloud hanging around as the sun was rising but now at 7.00Am we have a mainly blue sky and another hot one coming on around the beach.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Tuban you’ll find that 1AU$=Rp7,150 and 1US$=Rp10,850 give or take 100Rupiah depending on vender.
Don’t forget you can drop us an email through the “Contact” link if you have any questions that might help your next vist to the holiday island run a bit smoother.
We also have a NEW Home Base guest house close by to Airport Left and the other breaks of the Outer Reefs, 5 min walk. This place is more private and spacious with big air conditioned rooms, hot and cold water, tv and plenty of off street parking all enclosed in Balinese style. The rooms are US$15.00 for a room with big double bed and US$28.00 for a twin share room
Bali Fishing New’s; I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
